There are a lot of different types of squid and some of them are very big. The largest squid caught in 2007 was almost 9 m in length and was placed at the museum in Washington. Until now cephalopods are still not examined properly and that is why there are a lot of different myths and legends about them.
Japanese and Korean were the first who started catching squid. They went for catching at night and shined with a spotlight and when squid went into the light they threw jigger as a special bait.
The central part of squid is its body. A narrow part of the body has a triangular fin. Squid uses the fin in order to change the direction or to go higher. In case when squid develops high speed, the fin serves as a stabilizer keeping the right direction.
Squid has got 10 tentacles while one pair of tentacles is significantly longer than the rest of tentacles. The body of squid is delicacy that is full of protein and does not contain bones. We offer such squid products as body and fillet.
